Charles Crawford

Chuck brings more than 17 years of relevant leadership and hands on infrastructure and security experience to Fishnet Security. Chuck served as the Chief Information Security Officer and Deputy CIO for the University of Kansas, building up the security program for the entire KU campus, including risk management, compliance, forensic analysis, governance, application and network security. Chuck has over 10 years of Checkpoint Firewall design and management experience including the use of Crossbeams and Checkpoint Appliances along with Provider 1 management application. He also served on numerous governance boards and committees for the University, the State of Kansas, and other higher education affiliations working on policies and other best practice frameworks. As Deputy CIO, his responsibilities included complete over site and management of the University’s cable plant, data centers, voice systems, network and servers, including the implementation, migration and management of over 800 virtual systems. Chuck has led teams on building out 3 datacenters. Chuck also worked as a consultant for one of the largest ISO accreditation firms in the United States as a certified ISO 27000, 9000 and 20000 auditor and trainer. At his previous employer, Chuck served as Chief Technology Officer for a telecommunications company focused on delivering voice over IP services via the cloud. His responsibilities included complete over site and management of 3 datacenters located nationwide, engineering, security, as well as integration with carriers and ISP’s ensuring service quality, security and excellence to the customer. This included pre and post sales engagements with the customers on our service solution and benefits of using the cloud for their business.
